WILL POWER & MOTIVATION

By LILITH MOON

Namaste beautiful!

I want to talk about will power and motivation today. This is something so many of us struggle with, so let’s explore this a bit! There’s a lot of things you could say on that topic and a lot of different approaches.

From the yogic perspective, a lack of will power and motivation would be seen as an inactive 3rd chakra.

When Manipura or the navel chakra is not active enough, we can’t muster the energy to assert our will in the world and to motivate ourselves to go for our goals.

The way to activate this chakra is to wear yellow colours, eat yellow foods and meditate, focusing on the energy centre surrounding our navel and imagining it as a brightly shining sun, warming us from the inside.

Asana (yogic body postures) are also a great way to activate your fire centre, all the warrior poses for example (no surprise there! ;)).

From a shamanic perspective, when you don’t feel powerful and motivated, it means that you have experienced something shamans call power loss. At some point you decided to give away your power and now you need it back. A shaman can do that for you in a shamanic healing ceremony and learning how to undertake shamanic journeying for yourself is also a great way to take your life back into your own hands and create your life on your own terms.

In very practical ways I would say that you might have a closer look at why you don’t feel empowered and motivated. Is this goal you have really what you want and need or is this actually somebody else’s idea of what you should have, do or be? If yes, change direction and you will feel much more powerful and motivated!

If you find that your goal is truly yours and you really want it but still can’t find the power and motivation in you to actually do it, this might be a problem of self-worth. Maybe you feel like you don’t deserve it?

If this is the case, childhood conditioning is most likely the culprit and there’s a lot of different ways to rediscover your worthiness. Shamanic healing and journeying is my path, but you might also choose to do a constellation or try tapping or you might work with crystals or affirmations or any other approach that appeals to you.

Breaking down goals into baby steps and rewarding yourself for each of them might also increase your sense of empowerment and motivate you to go for your dreams.

I hope this was insightful and I am happy to answer any questions that might have come up for you, just post them below! And if this is something you want to explore further with the help of shamanic yoga, let me know, then I can create a shamanic meditation for you all.

Lots of love to you!

Lilith
